Commercial Loading Docks: Dock Doors vs Grade Level Doors

Commercial Loading Docks: Dock Doors vs Grade Level Doors

Commercial Loading Docks

Commercial loading docks are the backbone for any E-commerce businesses and other commercial warehouses which pick, ship, load, and unload inventory, products, or materials.

There are two types of commercial loading docks which help keep businesses moving which in turn allow the world to have anything we wish for within a few days reach.

Dock Doors vs. Grade Level Doors

In the video below broker-in-charge, Mike Ferrer, gives us a quick run down of the two most popular loading docks in commercial real estate:

Dock Doors: Dock doors are a type of loading dock which are usually raised in the air in order to be level with trucks carrying goods. The trucks can back straight up to the dock door without having to change position or lower ramps.

Grade level doors: Grade level doors are level to the ground or floor which allow easy access for forklifts, hand trucks, and foot traffic from warehouse workers.
